REPEAT PRESCRIPTION ORDERING FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

Please note there is no need to order an extra month's worth of medication. Please just allow a few extra days for us to get the medication ready for you to collect.

Can we remind all dispensing patients to allow 3 FULL working days for your prescription to be processed.
Please do not attend the surgery to collect your prescription before this time unless you have had a text message to say it is ready.
We are extremely busy at the moment in dispensary so please help us to help you by allowing the correct amount of time when ordering your medication.

Repeat Prescriptions

If you require medication on repeat prescription we ask you to do this in writing or via the NHS app. We provide you with a re-order form along with your prescription. Please tick the required medication and leave the slip in the repeat prescription box at the front of the surgery. Access to the prescription box is available 24 hours a day. You can also send this slip by post. If you do not have your repeat re-order slip, please write an order including the drug, strength, dosage and quantity.

Alternatively, you can register with our online service and order your prescription online via the link at the top of this page. Click here for information about how to register for this service. You can also request a prescription by clicking on the Contact Us Online button on the sugery Homepage.

Prescription Fees

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

  • those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
  • those who are age exempt
  • those with certain medical conditions
  • More information is available at NHS Choices

NHS Charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

  • Prescription (per item): £9.90
  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £114.50
  • 3-month PPC: £32.05

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.

Pharmacist Team

We have a team of pharmacists who work for the surgery undertaking a lot of our medication reviews and queries. They work remotely and so contact patients by telephone. Their hours include evenings and weekends so may phone during 'unusual' hours. If you would like to discuss your medication, please contact the surgery and arrange an appointment with a member of this team.
